LED lighting retrofit at Harley-Davidson® Nuremberg

The Challenge

The previous lighting system in the showrooms and workshops caused high energy consumption, required frequent maintenance, and no longer met the standards of modern, sustainable retail lighting. A solution was needed that could enhance both economic efficiency and the brand image of Harley-Davidson®.

The Solution – Light as a Service and LED Retrofit with the GLT LED TUBE

Harley-Davidson® Nuremberg chose to upgrade to GLT LED TUBES using the GLT Rent “Light as a Service” model – enabling a full LED modernisation with zero upfront investment. A total of 145 outdated T5 and T8 fluorescent tubes in the showroom and workshops were replaced in a 1:1 LED retrofit process in accordance with IEC/EN 62776, carried out seamlessly during ongoing operations by German LED Tech technicians.

The existing luminaires were converted to EN standards, and the old ballasts were removed. The LED driver is fully integrated into the GLT LED TUBE. The new LED lighting meets all technical standards and legal requirements for quality, energy efficiency and sustainability. With the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) of the GLT TUBE, all environmental impacts of the lighting system can be transparently documented.
